Lectures in Competition Analysis

The seminar “Lectures in Competition Analysis” is a one-day event co-organised by the Competition and Regulation European Summer School (CRESSE), the Research Group in Law, Economics and Competition of the Economics Institute – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (GDEC/IE/UFRJ) and the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE). The event will be held at Cade’s Auditorium in Brasilia, Brazil, on 8 November 2017.
The seminar will promote a preliminary debate* surrounding specific antitrust issues that will play a crucial role in the Fifth BRICS International Competition Conference, which will take place in Brasília on 9 – 10 November 2017.
During this one-day preparatory seminar, lectures will focus on ongoing discussions, such as cartel screening techniques and damage estimation, market restrictions and foreclosure process, merger effects, and antitrust remedies and enforcement.

*As part of the Fifth BRICS International Competition Conference pre-event initiatives, CRESSE and GDEC/IE/UFRJ are also organizing the “International Workshop in Advances in Competition Policy Analysis” in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 6 November 2017.
The Seminar will be held at the Auditorium from Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), located at SEPN 515, Conjunto D, Lote 4, Edifício Carlos Taurisano. Asa Norte, Brasília, Brazil.
Registration to the Seminar will be open until 15 October 2017. Places are limited. Preference will be given to attendees from BRICS countries and from the event’s organizing and supporting institutions. A confirmation email will be sent after the end of the registration period.
